Pasadena Heritage is sponsoring a social meet-and-greet on Tuesday, Nov, 10, and Thursday, Nov. 12, as part of “Preservation Pasadena: Craftsman to Modern,” this year’s fall education event that temporarily replaces Craftsman Weekend during the pandemic.
The event will give guests the opportunity to talk to creative craftspeople and experts from around the country who specialize in antique and contemporary furnishings and decorative arts.
Participants can choose to attend one or both of these informal and festive events, making sure to bring questions for the artisans they’ll meet. Prior to the online meeting, view a video presentation about the artists and experts.
A complete list of artists and experts will be emailed after registration. Those currently confirmed for Tuesday include Mike Devlin, a custom furniture designer and maker who owns Mike Devlin Furniture Design; Keith Rust, the artist behind Keith Rust Illustrations; Cha-Rie Tang and Mei-Ling Hubbard, the mother-and-daughter team who owns Pasadena Craftsman Tile; Paul Freeman, owner of Archive Edition Textiles and Textile Artifacts in Hawthorne; and Dianne Ayers, proprietor of Arts and Crafts Period Textiles in Oakland.
For Thursday, featured artists include Evan Chambers, founder and owner of Evan Chambers Objects in Pasadena; Debey Zito and Terry Schmitt of Zito Schmitt Design, which specializes in furniture, interiors and public; and Ted Ellison of Theodore Ellison Design in Oakland, which does original mosaic and leaded glass for new construction and fine homes.
Dianne Ayres and Mike Devlin also join the Thursday panel.
Registration fees for the meet-and-greet are $12 to $15.
